Adventures in Bali

It's been a week since I've been back from my travels to Thailand, Bali, and Tokyo!  The time was so rich in culture, experience, and food and I wouldn't even know where to begin in telling you about all of it!

My friend Nicole and I planned this trip to Bali just a few months ago when we were talking about what we might be needing for ourselves.  We landed on rest, adventure, and something divine.

Nicole slept in a treehouse in Ubud, Indonesia her first night.  (Yes, a massive treehouse!) I on the other hand got stuck in Bangkok, Thailand and wasn't able to meet her for our original plan.  (Count on original plans falling thru while traveling)  I flew in the next morning and got driven by an extremely animated driver out to meet Nicole in a rice field just a few ft. from her heaven-like treehouse.  It was such a great moment to be walking towards one another in Bali!  After weeks of planning, here we were, standing in a rice field, in 95 degree weather.  (We basically were drenched our entire trip!)

There are so many places to choose from when you are traveling!  So so many!  I'm the type of person who does most of my traveling alone and ends up making friends along my way so, I actually never feel alone.  It was nice to travel with Nicole though as we are both well traveled women and could be independent but also enjoy the company of one another when we wanted to.

The beginning of our trip started in Ubud and journeyed to Lembongan Island, then ended in Seminyak.  Each of these places are completely different from one another!  Ubud is lush and green and full of art, culture, and wellness detox centers.  Lembongan is my fantasy life realized!  It's green rocky cliffs overlooking vast turquoise ocean with Balinese children surfing until sunset. And Seminyak, well, it's boutiques lined for days and restaurants that will make you want to stay another week or two!

If you have any travel or Bali questions, don't hesitate to email me!  I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed them in real life.
