Leo turns 1!

Growing up with an Armenian mother and an American father has made life more rich with culture and difference.  Birthday parties, Armenian food, and Armenian dancing are just norms in our family and I wouldn't trade it in for anything.

Last week I was hired to photograph little Leo's one year old birthday.   This Korean American baby boy stole my heart.  It was wonderful to see how his parents celebrated both cultures and brought Korean tradition throughout the day.

Father Daughter Love

This is year five of photographing these lovely two human beings.  I met Tod through a mutual friend and we became fast friends.  We have had many talks about what it means to be a single parent, let alone, a single father in a world where single moms are much more recognized.  I've watched him parent his way into becoming a very present father to his soon to be teenage daughter, Kimber.

The name Kimber fits her.  She's got poise, energy, a strong sense of self, creative abilities, and well, I just love her.  It feels so special to get to know my clients and their children over the years.  It's not just about being the family photographer, as it is about being invited to join into the stories of their lives.

Here is year five with Tod and Kimber.  Enjoy.

The Edwards

I'm so excited to blog this beautiful family!  I've known them for years and have watched their love for one another grow into such a life giving relationship.  They all three exude kindness and a playfulness that is infectious.  Thank you both for having me document this fun and silly beach day!

Today is a special and sad day for them.  After seven years in this beautiful city, they are moving back home to be with family and friends.  We will miss you three!
